this is an independent, highly selective and exclusive blog for sarah manning from bbc america's orphan black. both tv show and comics based + headcanon influences. i do not claim to be tatiana maslany, and i i’m not affiliated with her, nor bbc.
PORTRAYAL.
my sarah is my own, and comparing blogs is a shitty move so stop it. i’ll be writing her based on what i thought about the character while watching the tv show and reading the comics. plus, she’ll be heavily headcanon based, so i can incorporate my own view of sarah into my writing.
my sarah is a classic anti-hero, and this is heavily portrayed here. she has had a revelant character development through the seasons, and i'll acknowledge that too, but my sarah will not hesitate on lie to you if that means helping those who she loves. she still doesn't play by the rules, but for the right reasons. my sarah is also some sort of activist on her own way. cannonly, regarding to the punk movement, siobhan says sarah has not taken any part on the activism that such subculture represents, but MY SARAH will take part on it. she won't march, but if you make any kind of misogynist comment on her presence, she'll manifest her ideals. if you have any problems with feminism, please, make sure to do not follow me.
ACTIVITY.
i just finished college and i’ll start working soon, so i won’t have much time to be around here. my activity might be sporadic, considering both previous reasons + commission. not to mention that my muses are always very stubborn and they might not show up sometimes — some days i’ll reply 50 threads, others none. i’ll not answer things when i don’t have muse for sarah because forcing things isn’t nice. i hope you can understand that.
INTERACTION.
this blog will only roleplay with mutuals. considering i have a life and this isn’t my main blog (for now), i’ll only be following a certain amount of people so i can keep my sanity. i know this sucks, i wish i didn’t have to be this selective, but i hate when my blog is a mess so, because of that, i’ll only keep threads that i really have muse for, and the ones i plotted beforehand, for obvious reasons.
memes will be selective too, and you can feel free to continue them when you feel like it. i usually reply them always with a cliffhanger, so you’re safe. it’s totally up to you.

my blog will have both mains & exclusives, mutually. i’m doing such thing basically so i can keep my sanity. plus, it gives us the opportunity to develop our characters’ connection much more profundly and attentionally. i’m not okay with such thing not being mutual, because i believe interaction development isn’t an one way street.

an orphan. ended up being adopted by siobhan sadler, along with a boy named felix. sarah had a turbulent childhood, which influenced in her personality; she's a rebel, a punk. never had fixed jobs, she was a drifter, a thief; played people at her will. midst her messy life, she got pregnant and had a daughter, kira. around age 31, she saw a girl who looked exactly like her jump in front of a train — elizabeth childs. sarah robbed the stranger's identity after finding out that beth had a good amount of money on a bank account. during this time as beth, another "girl who looks like her" managed to contact sarah (as beth), and gets killed in front of her. one thing leds to another, she finds out that she's a clone and that one of her doppelgängers is killing the others off.

1984: sarah is born in england (same year as the other clones). according to cosima's chart, on march 15. 1992: sarah is legally adopted by siobhan sadler, along with felix. 1996 - 1998: siobhan runs away with the kids, heading to canada. 2004: meets cal morrison and marks him as a target for one of her scams; and when she runs away, sarah finds out she's pregnant. 2005: kira is born. 2012: meets victor schmidt, a drug dealer, and starts a relationship with him. runs away with vic, leaving kira behind with mrs. s. 2013: 10 months later, she comes back home and as soon as she gets to ontario, she sees beth killing herself. finds out about clones and neolution. 2014: finds out about project LEDA and re-meets cal, telling kira that he's her father. it is stated that helena is indeed her twin. she surrenders herself after DYAD kidnaps kira, and thanks to marion bowles her daughter is released. sarah is introduced to project CASTOR. 2015: she's taken by CASTOR along with helena — the twins manage to escape somehow. runs away to iceland with her family. 2016: meets MK, comes back to iceland after neolution tried to attack them. finds out about neolution's biotech. later on, she goes to the island of doctor moreau, in attempt to save cosima.

pre-show.origin of species. verse for au and canon threads that are set before orphan black's canon events – sarah doesn't know anything about clones and the LEDA universe; she's merely on the run, just like she's always been.
instead of moving to canada at age 12, sarah is sent to hogwarts at age 11, when she received a letter. as the years goes by, the girl finds out more about herself and finds out that she comes from a very distinctive hereditary line* of wizards and witches that are indeed slytherins, but that do not share some of the values that the house always tries to hold on to. she's not gonna care about blood or family names – the girl is always looking for the best deal to keep in safety those who she loves. currently, at age 31, she works for the ministry of magic as an auror. ( you can read this if you'd like more information about why i sorted sarah into slytherin. )
TIMELINE
ATTENDING HOGWARTS my main verse is set during the trio's era, considering that most rp blogs on tumblr are from such generation. it can be changed, though, according to my partner's wishes — just come and ask me. otherwise, i'll set sarah into harry's era.
1979: is born, in march. follows orphan black's canon events. 1991: is sent to hogwarts, joins slytherin as expected. does not accept the house traditions and values, but doesn't act on it. 1993: sarah starts becoming more and more wild, turning into a "rebel" amongst slytherins. this is the first year that she publicly stands up for harry, often picking fights due her beliefs. 1995: joins the dumbledore's army, although some of the other members were still suspicious of her loyalty. 1998: is one of the few slytherins to fight along with harry during the battle of hogwarts. 1999 - ?: struggles to start the auror training due to her grades, but ends up being accepted since shacklebolt allows any participant in the battle of hogwarts to begin such training if they are interested. three years later, she starts working under harry, ron and kingsley's orders, finally as an auror.
sarah started manifesting some enhanced abilities when she was nearly 13 – after seeing her foster brother get beat up by a group of older teens. her true powers are healing ( sarah is capable of healing, physically, spiritually and mentally others by touch ) and accelerated self-regeneration. she has also manifested enhanced strength, speed, and acute senses. sarah prefers to work alone, helping others when it is possible.
born an orphan, sarah never knew her parents – found in the forest, abandoned, she was adopted by a family ( the mannings, a small house ) sworn to the starks. after they were decimated and the boltons took over the north, the mannings were killed under the context of treason, but sarah managed to scape. now, she seeks for revenge, allies and blood.
